POSTDOC POSITION (F/M/X)
(full-time, 40h per week)
in the working group “Research on Antisemitism” for the duration of 4 years. The expected start of employment is July 01st, 2025.
We are looking for a scholar with an outstanding record of international visibility, a strong profile in the field of antisemitism studies, an enthusiasm for interdisciplinary dialogue and a willingness to play an active role in shaping the research profile of the IKW. The successful candidate should have established a reputation for works on the history and present of antisemitism, with a particular focus on antisemitism since 1945 and expertise in empirical social research.
The main research focus of the position is on the study of antisemitism in Austria since 1945, with a particular emphasis on contemporary manifestations of antisemitism in Austria, taking into account European and global developments.
The candidate should hold a PhD in a related field. We are looking for a candidate with profound expertise in the methods of social research (qualitative and/or quantitative) for the analysis of current patterns of antisemitism, but also in the history of antisemitism. The candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to develop an individual research profile in close cooperation with the research group “Research on Antisemitism” at the IKW and to design, apply for and carry out third‐party funded projects. Furthermore, the candidate should be willing to engage in networking within the Austrian and international research community.
Language requirements: Fluent in written and spoken German and English
We offer for this position an annual gross salary of € 66.501,40, according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
