In the new team of Prof. Dr. Farsam Salimi, two positions for university assistants are being advertised. Please note the parallel advertisement, position ID 3688.
As a university assistant, you will take on exciting tasks such as active participation in teaching and publishing activities as well as in research projects. Our focus is on judicial criminal law, criminal procedural law and police law, particularly with regard to the challenges facing criminal prosecution in the digital age.
The contract term is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not submit a non-renewal declaration within the first 12 months.
Your tasks:
You are actively involved in research, teaching and administration, which means:
- Participation in research projects
- Participation in publications/scientific articles/lectures
- Participation in and independent delivery of courses within the scope of the collective agreement provisions
- Student support
- Participation in the organization of meetings, conferences, symposia
- Participation in team, teaching and research administration
- A conclusion of your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months is expected
Requirements:
- Completed degree in law
- Excellent knowledge of Austrian law
- Above-average academic performance, particularly in criminal law
- Excellent knowledge of German
- Very good written and spoken English skills
- Independent and results-oriented work
- Comprehensive IT knowledge, at least in MS Office
- Interest in academic work and legal developments in criminal law, including methodological references, is required
Also desirable are:
- Didactic skills/experience in e-learning
- You are a team player with high social/communication skills.
- Experience in legal practice through legal traineeship or legal internship, working in a government agency or law firm or comparable activity
