Do you enjoy working with young people, are you curious and want to pass on your knowledge? As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a key role in the education of students. In addition to providing in-depth specialist training, we also place great importance on the personal development of students. We help students to develop an inquisitive and critical way of thinking and thus create a solid foundation for the professional challenges of the next generation.

Your workplace:

As a Senior Lecturer, you will be involved in teaching history studies.

The employment level of 57.1% includes an average teaching commitment of 8 semester hours per week of academic teaching. The basic willingness to increase the level of employment is welcomed, subject to university requirements. In the event of a positive evaluation at the end of the fixed-term period of 4 years, the position will be terminated.

Your future tasks:

You will teach 8 SWS per semester, with a focus on the Bachelor's level. Ongoing reception of the current state of science as well as further didactic training and the assumption of research tasks during course-free periods are expected. The teaching portfolio also includes courses in the STEOP. In addition, administrative tasks, especially in the administration of teaching, are part of the job description. The teaching duties will focus in particular on the following areas:

- Austrian history from 1815 onwards;

- historical research techniques and archival studies or research techniques and academic writing;

- historical methods (teaching of source genres, qualitative and quantitative methods; teaching of historical-social science methods for teacher training students).

Academic qualification in the form of a completed doctorate in a relevant subject, corresponding academic publication activity, broad teaching experience in the tertiary education sector.
