The Department of Islamic-Theological Studies is looking for an organisational assistant with very good IT skills in the field of Islam in Contemporary Society. We are a young team and offer a pleasant working atmosphere, diverse tasks and good opportunities for further training.
Your personal sphere of influence:
Your future workplace will be at the Department of Islamic-Theological Studies in the Department of Islam in Contemporary Society. In addition to supporting Prof. Dr Zekirija Sejdini in personnel, budget and project matters, you will also be expected to support the Department in IT and computing matters.
The position comprises 20 hours per week and is initially limited to one year, with the possibility of extension.
Your future tasks:
- Planning and coordinating meetings, workshops and business trips
- Creation and preparation of minutes and data
- Support in the preparation of publications and events
- Administration of project budgets
- Maintaining the department's website and sending out newsletters
- IT and computer support for the Department, in particular in the maintenance of digital systems and technical support for events
- Central contact person for German and English correspondence with internal and external interfaces (team, university, project partners, students)
- Supervision of guest researchers and cooperation partners
- Maintenance of u:cris, management of keys and orders
This is part of your personality:
- Completed school or work qualification, e.g. school-leaving certificate, vocational matriculation examination or comparable training
- Experience in university administration or profound knowledge of university structures and processes (of advantage)
- Very good knowledge of MS Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Very good knowledge of German
- Knowledge of Turkish, Persian or another Islamic-theological traditional language is an advantage
- Experience in working with content management systems (e.g. Typo3, WordPress) and social media platforms
- Experience with SAP and MailChimp (of advantage)
- Basic IT and computer skills, especially in the area of system administration and digital communication
- Organisational skills as well as a structured and independent way of working
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team with internal and external partners
- Experience in event organisation and project budget management (of advantage)
