Your personal sphere of play:
The University of Vienna seeks to fill a position of a Post-Doctoral Researcher, for a period of up to 6 years, focusing on process mining. The selected Post-doc will become part of the Research Group Workflow Systems and Technology (WST) at the Faculty of Computer Science, working closely with Prof. Han van der Aa and his research team. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
The WST research group focuses on research in process mining, which revolves around the data-driven analysis of organizational processes. At WST, we offer an excellent working environment in a new research team. As a member of the team, you will contribute to state-of-the-art research in the field. You will have the opportunity to set your own research agenda, attract funding, work closely with PhD candidates, and exchange ideas with international and interdisciplinary collaboration partners.
This position is limited until 28.02.2031.
Your future tasks:
You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which means that you:
- are involved in process mining research.
- will support PhD candidates in WST to conduct their research
- will contribute to the teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
- will supervise students in bachelor and master projects
- will contribute to the administration and other operational aspects of the group's scientific and educational activities
This is part of your personality:
- A PhD degree with a focus on process mining (or close to finishing)
- A track record of high-quality publications in key research venues, such as the BPM, CAISE, and ICPM conferences
- You have your own research directions that you want to develop
- Teaching experience
- An excellent command of English (spoken and written)
- Good programming skills, preferably in Python
- Strong ability to work in teams
- Perseverance and ability to get things done
- A high motivation to excel in your work
Desirable qualifications are
- Experience with writing grant proposals or even having attracted research funding
- Experience supervising students
- Experience in collaborating with PhD candidates (e.g., as a second author)
- Having worked in or visited international research groups
- Having been a reviewer or program committee member for conferences or journal
