Your personal sphere of play:

At the Department of Sociology, a subunit of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Vienna, the position of a University Assistant Postdoctoral (for the duration of 6 years, full-time, non-tenure track) is to be filled from 1 March 2025. 

You work in the team of Prof. Yuri Kazepov, characterized by excellent research in the fields of urban sociology, governance, comparative social policies and sustainability. 
You work in an interdisciplinary, international research network on comparative social policies from a multi-level-governance perspective, combining the territorial dimensions of social phenomena.
You will have the opportunity to develop your own research profile.

Your future tasks:

You participate actively in research, teaching and administration, which means:

This is part of your profile: 

•    Completed doctoral/PhD studies in sociology or a related discipline with focus on comparative social sciences.
•    Outstanding dissertation
•    Excellent  research competence in one or several of  the following fields: social inequality/mobility, education, labor market research, life course research, sustainability 
•    Expertise in applying a mixed-methods approach and in conducting case studies
•    High motivation to acquire third-party funding
•    Experience in working on international research projects is a significant advantage
•    Passion for excellent teaching
•    Excellent knowledge of German (C1) and  English (C1)
•    Team player with high social and communicative skills
