The position
Applicants for the tenure track position have a strong track record of basic research on the foundations of social cognition and behavior. Their in-depth understanding of neurobiological systems and the methodologies to investigate them promises major advances in our understanding of social cognition and behavior, and its brain bases. While the primary research focus should be on human social cognition and behavior, a strong interest in comparative and translational research as well as the neuro-cognitive processes underpinning human/animal interaction is particularly welcomed, and candidates with an interest in the ontogeny and phylogeny of social cognition are particularly encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will be affiliated with the University of Vienna (Faculties of Psychology and/or Life Sciences) as well as with the Messerli Research Institute at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, and must therefore show excellent potential for collaborations with research conducted at both Institutions.
