At the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, in the Research Unit of Computational Statistics TU Wien is offering a position as student staff in research/administration for 20 hours/week. Expected start: March 2025. This position is limited to expected 1 year, but no longer than the completion of a master's or diploma degree.
Tasks:
- Committed collaboration in the preparation and implementation of projects
- Support in the planning, coordination and promotion of events on subject-specific topics (e.g. webinars, workshops, conferences) aimed at scientists, students and the public
- Cooperation in organisational and administrative tasks in the field of teaching
Your profile:
- Enrolled in a relevant bachelor's program in technical mathematics or computer science; No completed master's or diploma degree in the subject area
- Specific subject knowledge: Basic knowledge of statistics, experience with the programming language R (experience with Python is an advantage)
- Experience as a tutor is an advantage
- Team- and communication skills
- Interest in topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM and data science

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade C of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 1.349,60/month gross, 14 times/year for 20 hours/week.
